Sykes to open site in Berlin

2010-02-08 - US-BPO provider Sykes moves into the rooms of the former call center of „Quelle Communications“ in Berlin. The call center had been shut down after retail firm Arcandor and, among others, its subsidiary Quelle went into insolvency. Berlin Partner, a business development company, who announced the new contract with Sykes said that at least a part of the jobs at risk could now remain in Berlin.

Corinna Janssen, Managing Director Sykes Deutschland, said that Sykes chose to move to Berlin because of the excellent infrastructure, the availabitly of highly qualified multilingual employees.

Sykes has its headquarters in Tampa Florida. The company employs some 51,000 people worldwide. So far, in Germany Sykes operates call centers in Bochum, Pasewalk and Wilhelmshaven.
